Dylan McLernon is a BFA undergrad from Calgary's Alberta College of Art + Design. A sculptor, McLernon's current mediums include yellow cedar, stone and beeswax. The artist's recent sculptures fall within the contemporay neo formalist movement, also known as abstract art. Dylan's philosophy about art is simple: Art is honey! It is a collection of nectar and pollen from ones experiences, allowed to ruminate into something unexpected. Perhaps bees have known this all along? Whether or not a honey bee understands art, it is certain both art and honey serve a purpose in sustaining human existence.
